Get the Most from Your Candle

Every Naked Illumination candle is thoughtfully handcrafted to provide a beautiful fragrance experience from the very first light to the last. Following these simple care tips will help your candle burn cleanly, evenly, and safely while maximizing its lifespan.

Before Your First Burn

The first burn is the most important.

Allow your candle to burn until the melted wax reaches the edges of the container. This usually takes 2–4 hours, depending on the size of the candle.

Doing so helps prevent tunneling and promotes an even burn throughout the life of your candle.

Trim the Wick

Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch (6 mm).

Keeping the wick trimmed helps:

  • Create a cleaner flame
  • Reduce soot and smoke
  • Prevent mushrooming
  • Improve the overall burn

Burn Time

For the best performance, burn your candle for no more than four hours at a time. 

Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting.

Extinguishing Your Candle

To minimize smoke, use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame.

Avoid moving the candle until the wax has cooled and solidified.

Safety First

For your safety, always:

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep candles away from children and pets.
  • Burn on a heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep away from curtains, paper, and other flammable materials.
  • Avoid burning near open windows, fans, or drafts.
  • Leave at least 4 inches between burning candles.

When to Stop Burning

Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom of the container.

Burning beyond this point may cause the container to overheat.

Candle Storage

Store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.

Proper storage helps preserve both the fragrance and the appearance of your candle.
